Portraits: Tony Peterson

The 35th annual North Dakota State University Madrigal Dinners this past weekend were the scene for announcing the homage of Ye Boar’s Head and passing the wassail bowl.

Tony Peterson, a music education senior, was one of 18 vocal group members who dressed in medieval and Renaissance costumes to entertain the guests during the 2½-hour event.

Small groups of musicians provided brass accompaniment throughout the program each of the three nights. The vocalists are selected from the university’s concert choir.

“We like to change it up every year with a different story and music,” the Grand Forks native says. This was his third year participating in the event.
