Authorities ID man who died while duck huntingDETROIT LAKES, Minn. – A 61-year-old Minneapolis man who died while duck hunting has been identified by the Becker County Sheriff’s Office.
Charles Vernon Wright’s body was recovered about 3 p.m. Tuesday from Rat Lake in north-central Becker County.
The man was apparently in a duck boat that overturned, submerging the victim, according to the sheriff’s office.
One family member told authorities the victim had been in Becker County since Nov. 6. An autopsy will be performed to determine whether the cause of death was drowning or a medical condition.
The body was recovered by divers in water less than 10 feet deep.
Previously, the sheriff’s office said Wright was 62. A news release issued Wednesday listed his birthday as this coming Sunday.
