FMO artistic director to be in Macy’s parade

Fargo-Moorhead Opera Artistic Director David Hamilton and his daughter Kate will be part of this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

Hamilton said he’s “not a hundred percent sure” what he and Kate, 21, will be doing. He thinks they’ll be carrying banners.

They have to be at the designated location at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, and they’ll be given their assignments and their costumes that morning.

“Haven’t a clue” what they’ll be dressed as, he said.

“I’ll probably be a very large elf,” joked Hamilton, who also teaches voice at Concordia College.

Kate is a student in biology at Concordia.

“It’s always fun to do something new and different,” said Hamilton.
