Re-elect Voxland Moorhead mayorI urge residents of Moorhead to re-elect Mark Voxland mayor of Moorhead.
A week after the March 2009 flood crest, we were moving from our home to temporary quarters. We had a minor conflict with a police officer. The mayor came to our home and was quickly surrounded by frustrated family members. Then he came face to face with my wife, who let him know in no uncertain terms how she was feeling about the situation. The mayor listened calmly and pledged his support to the families of Moorhead harmed by the flood. And he, along with other city leaders and our state and federal representatives, came through for the residents of Moorhead.
Voxland was happy to let City Manager Michael Redlinger be the public face of Moorhead during the flood. And Redlinger demonstrated his talents and potential under tremendous pressure – an emerging star he is. But Voxland was there working diligently 24/7, and his post-flood actions showed me that he cares deeply for the residents of Moorhead.
