Mayor Voxland earns re-electionWe urge the voters in Moorhead to re-elect Mayor Mark Voxland on Tuesday. Now, more than ever, we need the experience, positive attitude and work ethic he brings to our city.
In his eight years as mayor we have seen substantial and progressive changes in our community with the revitalization of the area of Fourth and Main, population growth of 12 percent, federal transportation projects for the 34th Street interchange and the foundation for the 20th-21st Street underpass, establishing our Human Rights Commission, real growth of businesses such as Menards, ByteSpeed, two new colleges and Pactiv.
Voxland has established successful partnerships for the downtown rail quiet zone, preservation of the Comstock House with the Minnesota Historical Society, our Emergency Dispatch Center with Fargo, Cass and Clay counties, the exciting new Trollwood Performing Arts Center with Fargo schools and the state of Minnesota, and our local Metro Area Transit center.
Moorhead needs Voxland to continue his partnerships with our federal and state representatives, the Army Corps of Engineers, and our North Dakota and Clay County neighbors as we work through the serious business of permanent flood protection for the entire region.
We know that a phone call to Voxland will answer any questions we may have and that he treats everyone with respect and courtesy. If he doesn’t know the answer, he will find out and call you back.
