College soccer: Bison women secure spot on Summit tourney

The North Dakota State women’s soccer team clinched a Summit League tournament spot with a 5-1 win over the University of Missouri-Kansas City on Sunday.

It will be the first tournament appearance for the Bison (9-6-2, 6-1 Summit) since joining the league in 2007.

Quin Ryan got the scoring going with an unassisted goal at 22:21 in the first half. She then assisted on an Abbey Stratton goal a minute later.

Michelle Gaffaney, Danielle DeMent and Danielle Boldenow also notched goals for the Bison.

NDSU next travels to Brookings, S.D., for a noon match on Saturday against South Dakota State.

The Summit League tournament will be played Nov. 6 and 8 in Brookings.
