Stop referring to ‘swine flu’I wish the media and even the Centers for Disease Control would quit incorrectly referring to the H1N1 virus as swine flu. It has absolutely nothing to do with pork. But because of this costly, but oft-repeated error, the hog business has been devastated. I understand that our exports to China have decreased by 96 percent.
It also has a tremendous down pressure on the price of beef. I heard on the radio today that you could contact the CDC Web site on the H1N1 with an address that included swine flu. How misinformed and uninformative is that! It’s your and my tax dollars at work – against us.
