Groups plan to refute insurance officialA number of organizations plan a news conference today in Fargo to unveil research and refute what they maintain are self-serving statements made by the head of the largest private insurance carrier in North Dakota.
Attending the news conference will be North Dakota State Sen. Tim Mathern, D-Fargo, and representatives of various groups, including ND Change that Works, NDPeople.org, the AFL-CIO, Northern Valley Labor Council, AFO-CIO ND and the AFL-CIO Northern Plains United Labor Council.
A statement released by the groups Monday said the organizations will respond to statements made by Paul von Ebers, the CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield, who criticized what is known as the “public option” in the debate surrounding health care reform.
The news conference will be at noon at 3000 32nd Ave. S. in front of Innovis Health.
