NFL: Around the water cooler

Four things we’re talking about after the Minnesota Vikings’ 30-23 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night:

Allen’s sack attack

Minnesota All-Pro defensive lineman Jared Allen sets a Monday Night Football record with 4½ quarterback sacks and follows each one with his now-famous calf-roping technique. Yee-haw!

The importance of Rice

Minnesota’s Sidney Rice goes high to recover two onside kicks late in the game.

Favre defeats all teams

Minnesota quarterback Brett Favre completes a record which will never be repeated. With the victory over Green Bay, he has now defeated all 32 teams in the NFL. His QB rating for the game is a whopping 135.3.

Running game stalls out

Minnesota All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson is held to 55 yards on 22 carries. So, for all the fantasy players, maybe next week.
