Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota lays off 100MINNEAPOLIS – Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota has laid off 100 people.
Spokeswoman Pam Lux said the state’s largest insurer needed to cut costs to offset flat enrollment and a weak economy. The workers will receive severance packages.
The cuts are mostly from its information technology department but also in operations and administrative support.
Blue Cross Blue Shield employs about 4,000 people and currently enrolls
2.8 million customers, about the same as last year.
