Identity theft awareness events set at The VillageIn conjunction with Identity Theft Awareness Week, The Village Family Service Center, 1201 25th St. S., Fargo, will host a presentation at 2 p.m. Oct. 20 by an agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who will talk about how thieves steal information, what to do to protect yourself and what to do if your identity is stolen.
The Village is also offering the public a chance to shred outdated financial records, including bank statements, checks and other items that contain personal and financial information from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 21-23 in its parking lot.
Material is limited to two banker boxes or three shopping bags.
