Fire damages plane in Fargo airport hangarA malfunction in a light fixture in a hangar at Fargo’s Hector International Airport sparked a fire Wednesday that caused about $45,000 in damage to an airplane.
Fargo fire crews got the call shortly after 3:30 p.m. and found a Piper Super Cub airplane on fire, according to a news release from fire Capt. Randy Weiss.
About half of the plane was burned by the fire, which investigators think started when an electrical short in the light fixture made sparks fall onto the plane.
Firefighters had the fire under control in seven minutes, Weiss stated in the release.
