Minnesota girl killed by train may not have heard it because of headphonesMINNEAPOLIS -- Police say the 16-year-old Buffalo, Minn,, girl struck and killed by a Canadian Pacific freight train Thursday apparently didn't hear the approaching danger because she likely was wearing headphones.
Tyler Wood was wearing earbuds and listening to music when she left her home in Buffalo on a walk to the store. She was struck and killed while walking on the railroad tracks.
Police say the train engineer sounded his horn and tried to stop the loaded mile-and-a-half-long train, but to no avail.
Police Chief Mitchell Weinzetl says the girl's headphones and music player were found near her body.
