VFW to present awards to students, teacherThis year’s West Fargo VFW and Auxiliary Voice of Democracy essay contest is open to all students in ninth through 12th grades enrolled in public, private, parochial or home schools.
The VFW and Ladies Auxiliary is also hosting the Patriot’s Pen essay contest, which is open to all students in sixth through eighth grades.
Teachers in kindergarten through 12th grades are also being honored for promoting patriotism, and can be nominated by fellow teachers or by the public.
The deadline for local competitions is Nov. 1.
