RedHawks' Jackson wins Northern League MVP award

Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks outfielder Nic Jackson has been selected Northern League Player of the Year.

Jackson hit .310 with 17 home runs and a league-leading 97 RBIs during the regular season.

He finished with a career-high 26 stolen bases, and was third in the league with 26 doubles.

Jackson, who was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the third round of the 2000 Major League draft, is the first F-M player to win the award since Joe Mathis in 2006.
