Minneapolis residents warned after two backyard robberiesMINNEAPOLIS – Police are warning neighbors in south Minneapolis after robbers targeted people attending two late-night backyard gatherings.
Authorities say people were gathered in a backyard on Chicago Avenue South early Saturday when two suspects – one carrying a handgun – entered the yard and demanded everyone hand over their valuables. The suspects fled after taking money and wallets.
Early Sunday, two suspects entered a backyard on 10th Avenue South and demanded that people turn over their valuables. During a confrontation, one of the suspects shot a man in the abdomen. The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he’s in stable condition. The suspects ran away.
The suspects are two males 14 to 20 years old wearing hooded sweatshirts with the hoods up and bandanas over their faces.
