Woman robbed near downtown Fargo

A 21-year-old Fargo man is in the Cass County Jail tonight after robbing a woman in downtown Fargo this afternoon.

A 52-year-old woman was walking with her 84-year-old mother in the 100 block of Broadway around 4 p.m. today when, according to the police report, the man pushed her to the sidewalk and took her purse.

Fargo Police Sgt. Mike Mitchell said the victim’s mother is in poor health so “if there is a good thing in this, he went for the younger of the two.”

The victim told police she struggled with the man to unsuccessfully hold onto her purse, and as a result, sustained bruises and minor cuts. However, she didn’t require medical attention.

The suspect, Terrance Lee Paul, was located by police in a nearby alley and arrested.

“He did confess to it and did give some reasoning why he did it, but it didn’t make sense,” Mitchell said.

The incident remains under investigation.
