Edina beats Fargo South in overtimeIn a game filled with 295 yards worth of penalties, Edina (Minn.) claimed a dramatic 25-22 overtime high school victory over Fargo South Friday in the Fargodome.
After South kicked a field goal to take a 22-19 lead in overtime, Edina scored on a five-yard, third-down pass from Nate Carlson to Colin Moynihan to claim the win.
Both high school football teams went into the locker rooms at halftime each with nearly as many penalty yards as total offensive yards.
Edina, thanks to a late 53-yard scoring drive, had an 11-5 halftime lead.
South got its points on a safety and a Kyle Roesler field goal with 8.3 seconds remaining.
