RedHawks' Rundown: Hawks rally to even series

The RedHawks won the game in the bottom of the 10th on a two-out throwing error by Goldeyes pitcher Chris Homer on a Jeremiah Piepkorn grounder.

The Goldeyes have a

4-2 series record in the playoffs when they win Game 1. Winnipeg took Game 1 of the best-of-5 series 7-3 on Wednesday at Newman Outdoor Field.

Winnipeg starting pitcher Bill Pulsipher was 13-19 with a 5.15 earned run average in six seasons in the major leagues. The lefty was a second-round draft pick of the New York Mets in 1991.

The RedHawks landed five players on the Northern League postseason all-star team. Catcher Alan Rick, third baseman Jeremiah Piepkorn, shortstop Zach Penprase, center fielder Nic Jackson and right fielder Mike Coles were each honored.
