Give dog a break; keep kids awayAfter reading The Forum front page article and hearing the details, I knew I must express concern, care, and compassion for Homer. The dog is being kept in his yard, and the children must be coming into his yard in order for the situations to be occurring.
Don’t get me wrong, I feel bad and sad for the children who have been hurt. However, the responsibility lies with the parents of the children.
Even if the dog is sometimes OK, no one knows when the dog is tired of being visited by kids.
I’m afraid for Homer and his owners. If enough people complain, Homer’s life may be at risk.
I’m a pet owner, and my dogs are my kids. I keep them safe, leashed and in their own yard. I feel that the parents in the Glyndon trailer park need to keep their kids in their own yards and give Homer a break.
