The ideal health system will include everyoneEvery American wants affordable, accessible health care – that’s a no-brainer. How we get there is not by shouting half-truths at one another.
I have been a supporter of a single-payer system since the ’80s, when I compared the overhead of insurance companies (25 percent+) to Medicare (3 percent).
The ideal health care system will include everyone (so we all share in the cost), will treat health conditions, pre-existing or not, appropriately and thoroughly, and will be clear and understandable by provider and patient alike.
I believe for-profit health care is out of place here, and immoral. Let’s take care of each other like we do during floods, stand in solidarity with those who experience health problems, and we’ll all be better off.
