Anderson makes Pine to Palm history with berth in field of 64

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Ever since she entered her first competitive golf tournament, Amy Anderson had her sights set on making her mark at the Pine to Palm golf tournament at the Detroit Country Club.

Mission accomplished.

Anderson made Pine to Palm history Wednesday as the first female golfer to earn a berth in the field of 64 in championship play.

The 17-year-old Oxbow, N.D., prodigy carded a 71-73 for a final two-round score of two-over par 144, thus qualifying her for Championship match play, which starts this morning.
