RedHawks pick up closer for stretch runThe Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Wednesday signed 31-year-old closer Tim Lavigne.
Lavigne was 5-3 with 22 saves and a 2.87 earned run average this season for Monclova of the Mexican League.
He was originally drafted by the New York Mets in the 32nd round of the 2000 draft. Lavigne has also played in the Yankees and Astros organizations.
He will be in uniform for tonight's game.
To make room on the roster, the RedHawks released reliever Elvys Quezada.
