Cass investigating break-in at Hunter barHUNTER, N.D. – The Cass County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a break-in on Tuesday at the C&I Hunter bar in Hunter, in which money vanished from the bar’s jukebox.
Deputies were called to the bar, on Hunter’s Main Street, shortly after 7 a.m. The bar’s front door had been pried open and its jukebox had been broken into. An unknown amount of paper money and coins had been taken.
Sgt. Duane Nitschke said burglars commonly hit jukeboxes, vending machines and dart machines in rural establishments. His department has investigated several burglaries in the past few weeks.
The department hasn’t identified a suspect in the Hunter incident.
“I am sure we’ll get a lot of tips,” Nitschke said. “In rural communities, we usually have a lot of people talking.”
