Swine flu count rises 30 percent in South DakotaPIERRE, S.D. (AP) - The state Health Department's count of swine flu cases rose to 74 this week, up from 57 a week ago.
Lon Kightlinger in the state Health Department says some of the new H1N1 cases involved youngsters who attended a church gathering in New Orleans.
The flu continues to affect primarily the young, with 11 cases in those 9 and younger, 29 in the 10-19 age group, and 22 in the 20-29 age bracket.
Pennington County reports 22 cases and Minnehaha County 14.
Two hospitalizations have resulted from the H1N1 flu. No South Dakota deaths have been linked to it.
