Advice to cowards regarding theftsWith the rash of burglaries in the West Fargo area, the obvious is to blast the homeowners who were victimized. How can you leave your doors unlocked? I felt the same way until late Thursday/early Friday morning when we became one of the victims in the Charleswood area. All it took for us was for our usual routine to get disrupted and to have one door left unlocked. Quite a shock to wake up in the morning and come downstairs to make coffee and find that an intruder(s) has been through your home and garage – later to discover my wife’s wedding ring, another ring and watch (which was a wedding present), gone. All of us were home and asleep.
I normally would not take time to write a letter to the editor, but this is a serious matter both for the victims and for those who are doing this act. Sooner or later this will end in a bad situation. The burglars are lazy, cowardly trash who don’t care about themselves, their families, community, or those they purposely steal from, or what they steal.
I write this for three purposes:
- People, lock your doors and triple-check that you have locked those doors, windows, etc. All it takes is one time for “trash” to come through and check the whole block for unlocked doors, hoping to find even one they can get into.
- People, if anyone has even the slightest hint or lead, do the right thing and contact the West Fargo police. Yes, this may be difficult since it may be one of your kids or friends.
- Lazy, cowardly trash, if you have the slightest of heart, you would return at least my wife’s wedding ring that means nothing to you, but a lot to her and me. I’ll make it simple – just leave it on our front doorstep some night when you are working our street again.
