Weekend Watch: Classic Film SeriesMonday through Aug. 13
The Fargo Theatre, 314 Broadway, has always been a grand old movie house, but next week it will relive its glory days with some old cinematic friends. The Classic Film Series kicks off Monday with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers kicking it up in 1936’s “Swing Time.” The dialogue picks up where the dancing ends Tuesday night when Katharine Hepburn matches wits with Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart in 1940’s “The Philadelphia Story.” After a day off, the silver screen still smolders with politically crossed lovers Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford in 1973’s “The Way We Were.” Each day features showings at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. with $10 tickets for the early show and $12 for the later screening, or $30 for the series pass. Food and drinks will be available for an extra charge. (701) 235-4152.
