West Fargo burglars exploit unlocked doorsWEST FARGO – West Fargo Police are investigating reports of four burglaries that occurred Thursday night, all of them involving doors that had been left unlocked.
According to a police report:
- A home in the 1800 block of Queensbury Street was entered through an unlocked back door.
- In the 1900 block of Pentland Street, a person entered a house through an unlocked patio door.
- In the 1600 block of 14th Street East, someone entered an unlocked back door of a garage and ran-sacked a vehicle.
- A garage in the 1500 block of 15th Avenue East was entered through an unlocked door.
Police said it was unclear early Friday how much was taken in the burglar-ies.
West Fargo Assistant Police Chief Mike Reitan says that makes 20 burglaries in the area since spring, adding that he believes there is a connection among the burglaries. Also, he said, last night's burglaries mark a departure from the garage and vehicle invasions as of late. Last night, Reitan said, unlocked homes were entered, something not previously happening.
Reitan said the burglaries have been concentrated in the Charleswood and Tintes additions, essentialy south of 13th Avenue on both sides of 9th Street East.
