Fargo plans distribution of new recycling, garbage bins starting next weekFARGO – New garbage containers and recycling bins will be distributed citywide starting next week as Fargo looks to implement its automated collection program in September.
The distribution begins with all residents on Monday’s collection route and will continue based the day of the week residents’ garbage is picked up, according to a new release from the city of Fargo.
The city plans to distribute 23,500 carts during a five-week period. The automated variable rate collection program begins Sept. 14.
The news release said carts will be inventoried by serial number, including the cart size and billing addresses.
Recycling bins will be emptied free of charge, every other week, on the same day residents’ garbage is collected.
The release said residents should refer to the sticker on the bottom of the recycling bin for their first week of collection.
