Fargo man critical after car crash

A 20-year-old Fargo man was listed in critical condition Monday in a Twin Cities hospital with injuries suffered when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car at a Fargo intersection.

Ryan Tucker was driving south on 25th Street South about 9:50 p.m. Friday when his motorcycle collided with a car driven by Pamela Kjonaas, 59, of Kindred, N.D., according to Fargo Police Sgt. Mark Lykken.

Kjonaas was driving north on 25th Street and was turning left onto 32nd Avenue South when the crash occurred, Lykken said.

He said no citations have been issued, but added the investigation is ongoing.

The Fargo Fire Department used inflatable bags to lift Kjonaas’ vehicle after Tucker became trapped beneath it, Lykken said.

Tucker was initially taken to Fargo’s Innovis Health and later transferred to North Memorial Hospital

in Minneapolis.

A hospital spokesman said Tucker was in critical condition Monday in the hospital’s intensive-care unit.

More information about Tucker’s condition can be found on the CaringBridge Web site www.caringbridge.org/visit/ryantucker89.

Tucker was on his way home from work when the crash occurred, according to information posted on the Web site.

He has undergone surgery for removal of his spleen and more surgery is scheduled for today, according to information posted on the Web site.
