Vehicle driven by missing Cass County, Minn., man found but he still is missing

WALKER - The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports that the vehicle owned and driven by Peter Achermann, who has been missing since Friday, was located Saturday evening in a southwest Cass County rural area, located northeast of Staples.

Achermann, 82, of rural Staples, is still missing.

Achermann was last seen Friday in Staples. He is a white man, about 5-foot-9, 175 pounds and has a gray beard and generally walks with a cane. He lives on a Moose Lake Township farm north of Leader.

Cass County authorities report an extensive air and ground search Saturday evening and Sunday of the area where the vehicle was located. Searchers involved in the search include law enforcement officers and Posse members from Cass and Wadena counties, Motley and Staples Fire Departments, Central Lakes Search and Rescue, community volunteers, family members and aircraft from the Minnesota State Patrol.
