Freeman leaving Plains Art Museum for IllinoisRusty Freeman, director of exhibitions and chief curator of the Plains Art Museum, is leaving the Fargo museum and taking the position of director of visual services at the Cedarhurst Center for the Arts in Mount Vernon, Ill.
Freeman joined the Plains staff in August 2001, curating more than 112 exhibitions.
“We are sorry to see Rusty move on but happy for this new opportunity for him,” said Colleen Sheehy, Plains Art Museum director/CEO. “We wish him the best in his new position and plan to build on the foundations he’s laid during his eight years of service at Plains Art Museum.”
The museum has scheduled a public open house reception for Freeman from 8 to 10 a.m. July 29.
