JLG production plant in Oakes, N.D., will remain openOAKES, N.D. - A production plant here that was slated to close in September, will remain open.
North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven said today that JLG Industries Inc., a subsidiary of Oshkosh Trucking, will continue operations at its Oakes facility.
In June, the company announced that it would discontinue production of aerial work platforms resulting in the layoff of 61 employees by the end of September.
Oshkosh Trucking was recently informed that it had received a $1.06 billion contract to build multi-purpose all-terrain vehicles for the U.S. military, Hoeven said.
Robert Bohn, Oshkosh CEO, said that contract will be filled by its plants in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and that JLG will continue manufacturing JLG lifts at Oakes.
