Sen. Franken's staff schedules local constituent meetingsNew Sen. Al Franken may be involved in Supreme Court justice nomination hearings this week, but his staff is on the road.
The Minnesota Democrat's staff will hold 66 "open office" sessions around Minnesota in the next three weeks.
"I came to Washington to work for the people of Minnesota," Franken said. "I'm excited that they'll finally have the chance to tell us what we can do for them."
Minnesotans may visit with Franken's staff about nearly any federal government issue.
On top of many scheduled meetings in southeast Minnesota this week, area meetings include:
- 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m., Thursday, Minnesota State University Moorhead Union Rm. 203, Moorhead.
- Noon-2 p.m., Thursday, conference chambers, City Administrator Building, 1025 Roosevelt Ave., Detroit Lakes.
- 3:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Thursday, City Hall, 112 W. Washington Ave., Fergus Falls.
