Halstad man injured during demolition derbyBARNESVILLE, Minn. – A Halstad man was in satisfactory condition late Saturday after he was injured in a demolition derby Friday night and was airlifted to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.
The accident happened around 7:15 p.m. during the Clay County Fair in Barnesville.
Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist identified the man as Kasey Hegreberg of Halstad. Bergquist did not know the man’s age.
A judge noticed Hegreberg slump down in his seat after his derby car and another car crashed into each other, Bergquist said. The derby was stopped, and Hegreberg told the judge he couldn’t move.
