Forum editorial: Two summer fairs kick off season in the valleyIt’s summer fair time in the Red River Valley. This week the big Red River Valley Fair near West Fargo and the Clay County Fair in Barnesville, Minn., begin their runs. Both are among the most popular seasonal events in the valley.
The Red River Valley Fair has undergone a remake after several years of struggling to regain its status as one of the premiere fairs in North Dakota. The lineup of entertainment and other attractions has something for everyone. The fair kicks off a week of grandstand concerts tonight.
In Barnesville, fairgoers will be treated to a more traditional county fair with its events and activities rooted deeply in rural culture.
Both fairs are great regional attractions. Both are worth a visit or two.
