Police plan to conduct enhanced speed patrolsDETROIT LAKES, Minn. – The Detroit Lakes Police Department and the Becker County Sheriff’s Office will conduct enhanced speed patrols this month.
Over the past three years, speed was a contributing factor in four Becker County fatalities and nearly 400 deaths statewide, according to a news release.
In Minnesota, speeding fines are doubled if a motorist is caught speeding 20 mph or more over the limit. Drivers caught driving at speeds of 100 mph or more are subject to a six-month license revocation.
