Disturbing show for gay pride
I am taking a class on history that teaches that history is important because “what happened upstream is still flowing past us today.” Ideas have consequences.
I was reminded of this Saturday when I went to a movie at the Fargo Theatre. They were selling “Gay Pride” shirts in the lobby. I was surprised to see that and was then informed that the GLBT group were meeting in the other theater. I then noticed the rainbow flags in downtown Fargo.
I thought of our first Gay Pride week in Fargo, when Jon Lindgren, who was our mayor, allowed it. And so that pollution is still flowing past us.
I did enjoy the rainbow flags, however. They reminded me of God’s promises to us. And his promises, unlike ours, never fail.
