Mosquito spraying planned for LeonardLEONARD, N.D. – Mosquito ground spraying is scheduled for Leonard starting at 7 tonight.
The active ingredient in the spray is permethrin, according to the Cass County Vector Control District.
The insecticide has been labeled for use in residential areas. It is considered non-toxic to humans and pets, but it is toxic to bees and fish. Cass County employees will stop sprayers if residents or pets are in the vicinity.
