RedHawks sign three pitchers

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks bullpen will get a boost tonight for the opening of a three-game series in Kansas City, Kan.

The RedHawks on Tuesday announced the signing of relief pitchers David Arnold, Elvys Quezada and T.J. Stanton. The released pitchers Josh Giles, Brian McCullough and Justin Phillips on Monday.

Arnold, 23, pitched last season with the River City (Mo.) Rascals of the Frontier League. He appeared in six games (three starts) for the Rascals and was 1-1 with a 4.32 ERA. Arnold pitched 16.2 innings and allowed eight runs on 17 hits. He walked seven batters and struck out nine.

Quezada, 27, joins the RedHawks after spending the 2008 season in the New York Mets organization. He split time between St. Lucie of the Florida State League (A) and Binghamton of the Eastern League (AA).

Stanton, 28, comes to the RedHawks after starting the season with the Sussex (N.J.) Skyhawks of the Can-Am League. He was 1-1 with a 7.20 ERA in two starts for Sussex.
