Summer Events: RibFest brings food, fun to domeRacing pigs and pork ribs will fill the Fargodome parking lot this week for RibFest 2009.
The annual meat and music festival is Wednesday through June 7.
The lineup of award-winning rib-cookers features Aussom Aussie, Cowboys, Desperado’s, Johnson’s, Porky n Beans, Rasta Joe’s and Willingham’s.
But they’re not the only featured acts. Each night includes a musical headliner: 32 Below, Rodney Atkins, Three Dog Night, Eve 6 and The Front Fenders and The Roosters.
Daryl’s Racing Pigs will also take center stage several times each day.
The Riblet Fest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday will include games, entertainment and prizes for the kids, as well as free admission.
Admission is also free during the Lip Smackin’ Lunch Special, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays, and for ages 12 and under. Otherwise, the entrance fee is $5. Food is extra, and the vendors only take cash.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 7.
