ND state softball: West Fargo wins first NDHSAA sanctioned state titleWest Fargo scored two runs in the sixth inning to rally for a 7-6 victory against Fargo North on Saturday at Elmwood Park, winning the first North Dakota High School Activities Association girls state softball championship.
The Packers (22-5) have won 12 consecutive state titles. Softball was a club sport for the first 11 crowns.
Freshman pinch hitter Harle Andel led off the Packers sixth inning with a double to spark the rally that broke a 5-5 tie. North (18-8) scored one run in the seventh inning.
