Cleanup week starts next week in Fargo, West Fargo

FARGO - Residents waiting to throw out unwanted items this spring will get their chance next week.

The annual cleanup week for Fargo and West Fargo runs Monday through Friday.

As a cautionary measure, residents are asked not to place household hazardous waste items out of curbside collections.

Those items can be taken to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility, 606 43½ St. N., Fargo, between 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 6 and June 13.

The facility is also collecting items from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

No business waste will be accepted during cleanup week.

Those dropping off hazardous waste – such as paint, stains, sealers, used oil, oil filters, fertilizers, adhesives, spray paint, bulbs and electronics – are asked to pack them securely, preferably in original containers.

For more information, call (701) 281-8915.

Also, groups or organizations willing to volunteer to help with community projects during cleanup week can contact Joe Locnikar at (701) 241-8134 for more information.
