Officers planning drunken driving crackdown Thursday in FargoFARGO - The first sobriety checkpoint of the year is scheduled for Thursday in Fargo.
Officers from the Fargo Police Department, Cass County Sheriff’s Office and North Dakota Highway Patrol use the checkpoint to deter drunken driving.
The checkpoint is the 38th in Fargo since October 2004. Previous checkpoints have resulted in 110 DUI arrests.
In addition to the checkpoint, extra police officers will patrol the city to search specifically for impaired drivers. Their patrols and the checkpoint will be paid for by grant funding.
