OutdoorBunker opens store

Fargo-based online outdoor gear company OutdoorBunker.com has opened a retail store in the Moorhead Center Mall.

The new store, called Outdoor Bunker, sells camping, fishing, hiking and hunting equipment and clothing, said Andrew Marthaler, marketing director.

“We’re excited because it’s a store that is going to bring us some people that perhaps have not been to the mall for awhile,” said Kristi Ulrich, mall general manager.

“It’s a store that will attract men into the mall,” she said.

The new store is in the center of the mall near the Moorhead City Hall elevators and next to General Nutrition Center.

OutdoorBunker.com, in business since 1979, employs about 40 people at its Fargo office and warehouse at 1320 5th Ave. N., Marthaler said.

“All of our online orders and packages are shipped out of here,” he said.

Marthaler said the company decided to open a retail store because of customer demand.

“We’re just really excited to have a new store come into the mall,” Ulrich said. “We’re working really hard to fill some additional spaces.”

Customers can purchase products at the store or online and pick up merchandise at the store, Marthaler said.

OutdoorBunker.com is owned by David Haugrud and Jon Goldberg.

The Moorhead store is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
