They want to turn the screws harder

Attention Fargo taxpayers: The city wants to get you to vote higher taxes into place before you forget the flooding from this year. However, they also want you to forget that you’re already paying 1.5 percent on top of high property taxes.

According to a recent article in The Forum, a half cent would generate $10 million every year. If this is true, then what are they doing with the other $30 million they already get? According to the city of Fargo’s Web site, it’s all for “infrastructure” and can be spent in a variety of ways, including flood protection. So why not use that? Or is this an opportunity to turn the screws on us a little harder?

Also, does anybody remember when cities couldn’t do this to us? And somehow they were able to function back then.
