Grand Forks man sentenced for stabbing man in bar parking lotGRAND FORKS, N.D. - A Grand Forks man who pleaded guilty to attempted murder in a bar fight stabbing about a year ago has been sentenced to serve five years in prison.
Twenty-nine-year-old Johnny Mendez was accused of stabbing 28-year-old Justin Christianson twice in the chest after a fight that started in a bar parking lot last February. Christianson recovered from his injuries.
Mendez apologized for his actions during his sentencing. He will be on supervised probation for 10 years after his prison term.
