Feds to contribute $2.6 million for NorthwoodBISMARCK, N.D. - Officials say the U.S. Commerce Department will provide more than $2.6 million to help rebuild the town of Northwood after a 2007 tornado.
The announcement came from the state's congressional delegation and Gov. John Hoeven.
Officials say it brings to more than $15 million in federal funds the town has received for rebuilding since the August 26, 2007 tornado.
The tornado killed one man, injured 18 people and destroyed much of the Grand Forks County town of about 950.
