How are they doing? When the North Dakota Legislature reconvenes Monday, it will be their 63rd day. They have 212 bills left to act on, according to the Legislative Council.
- 87 House Bills in the House
- 89 Senate Bills in the Senate
- 25 Senate Bills in the House
- 11 House Bills in the Senate.
There are conference committees set to go to work on 22 of the bills on which the two houses disagree.
During Friday’s floor action, the Senate acted to send 20 more Senate bills to conference committee because they disagreed with the House’s actions on them. The House put another 24 of their bills into conference committee. But all the conferees aren’t yet appointed.
The Legislature must finish its work in no more than 80 days.
The House has had 576 bills and 45 resolutions introduced since it started Jan. 6. The Senate has had 440 bills and 24 resolutions introduced.
