FLOOD UPDATE: Snowstorm, flooding hampers mail delivery in SD, ND and MN

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Today's spring snowstorm and widespread flooding continue to curtail mail delivery to parts of South Dakota, North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota, officials with the U.S. Postal Service's Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Dakotas District announced today.

The impacted areas include the eastern North Dakota ZIP Code areas of 583, 582, 580, 581, and in the 565 and 567 ZIP Code areas of Minnesota. Many roads are closed in those areas due to snow or flooding. Deliveries will be attempted where possible. Southeast areas in Fargo and other towns in southeast North Dakota are being impacted by the flooding.

Western North Dakota in the 586 and 585 ZIP Code areas were impacted by the blizzard on Tuesday. Post Offices are open in most towns and deliveries will be attempted where possible. The southeastern part of Mandan by the Marina Bay area is flooded, and no deliveries will be made. Customers in these areas may pick up their mail at the Main Post Office, 300 Collins Ave. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bismarck also is experiencing flooding in certain areas. Customers in these flooded areas may pick up their mail at the Expressway Post Office Distribution Center from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
